Fresh out the box!
Not technically all that good but my first chaser emergence.
as with Andy, it was a return visit later in the morning that saw everything busting open!! just love the way the breathing tubes stay operational until ready for the maiden flight.

Its great to even get these images, I also like that you have included the damselfly exuvia above, IMO get rid of the specular highlights on the bg and it will be a fine image....

Thanks for sharing and the award for the first Dragon fly of the season goes to you

As Phil says just to get the shot is great, I have been checking the local ponds but we are behind here due to the long winter, A lower POV would have been nice and would have helped with the background but i understand that this may have not been possible without a swim

Hi Paul

As Phil says great to even capture such an event and I think you have done quite a good job of it given the harsh lighting!

Very interesting.

Amazing how much bigger the fly is than the previous stage.

Cracking shot, points about the highlights already covered.

Agree over the highlights and PoV point and it looks a tad over sharp to me too Paul

Nits out the way it is a great capture - I'm that jealous I hate you    :toast:

And the Large Red exuvia above is the icing on the cake - great moment brilliantly seen and a cracking image to have - a bit different processing will make it something else matey - nice one :toast:
