I took this picture during the first weekend of November this winter. Despite the slow and crappy start to the winter the San Juans were holding a lot of snow, thanks no doubt to their amazing topography. This picture was taken around 13,000 ft. on a ridge. The person in the picture was gazing down into one of the bowls off the ridge that would have been perfect to ski. Since I didn't want to kill myself, I took pictures instead. A bigger version of this picture can be seen on my FLICKR account, as well as other pics from that trip. Thanks for looking.

Great shot. I like the BW and the placement of the climber.

This is a really nice people shot. The b&w works well, too. If I could make one suggestion, the galleries on Flickr could use some editing. When you've got a Capitol Peak gallery (to use just one example of many) that contains 300 images, many that are near duplicates of one another, it dissuades viewers from wading through to get to the best shots. I know I have a hard time editing my own photos, so I know how hard it can be. Just a suggestion.

Todd

I couldn't agree with you more. When I upgraded to a pro FLICKR account I think I got too excited and uploaded way too many pictures. That is why I created the "My Favorites" folder...it is the one folder that has my best images, included two pictures from Capitol Peak. When I have time, my plan is to drastically reduce the number of photos in each folder. Thanks for the suggestion and for the comment.

Including the climber's full shadow I think was a good compositional choice here. The B&W treatment is a good choice as well.

Cool shot. This is one of my favorites of yours. That does look like a good ski, doesn't it?!

This is really a great shot. I think this belongs on the cover of an REI catalog or something!

Jack,

It is an honor to get a comment from you. Thanks for replying...this shot is also one of my favorites. Wetterhorn is a spectacular peak...can't wait to get up there again. Thanks for looking!

Michael,

I appreciate the comment! I would love for REI to contact me, or any other outdoor manufacturer for that matter. I'm not holding my break, though. Thanks again for looking!
