Sunset on flooded field
The Spring flooding is a yearly event, however the severity ranges from bsrley noticable to verry destructive. The flood stage here is 15 ft we are now at 18.4. a little more and we will not be able to drive through on the access road to our community. It was up to 21.2 then started to fall, with rain up river it is coming back up is to crest sometime today then fall we should be above floodstage for a couple weeks yet. My mother is 84 and was born on the banks of the Misissippi, her family have been involved in commercial fishing, all her life. There is also a lot of recreational activity on the river now, with most residents here for other reasons. Anyway there are inconvieniences but we just deal with them and go on. This pic will show that even though it could be better there are still sone nice rewards for being here, Olympus 14-42mm lens at 84mmeq f8 1/160 ISO 100 looking West from Carman IL. cropped some lower FG

Nice image, Kendall. The history of your area is also interesting. We live very high and dry and have never really experienced flooding like this.
I was a little misled by the image title though. To me, it doesn't look like a flooded field as much as it looks like a lake, rvier or pond.

Glad to see you're making the best of an otherwise damp situation. Very nice image, Kendall.

Kendall nice image, love the "S" and the sun setting colors. Hope you get some dry hot weather to dry up your area. The rain and cold is finally starting to give way up river where I live!
