I love the flow of this shot. Looks like it could use a little contrast boost, plus the image as a whole looks too yellow, even though the sky seems to be retaining its blue hue.
Im having a heck of a time with Lightroom edits, they look great in Lightroom but when converted to jpg have a change in hue or something. Here is same image editted in CaptureNX and saved as .jpg, a bit more muted but beleive the yellow hue is gone. BTW, did a BW convert, looked pretty cool as well.
Cool shot! It looks like liquid about to separate.
As for saving for web, you should always convert the color profile to sRGB IE61966-2.1 first - a common profile that will display correctly across browsers and computers. I noticed you're using the native Nikon profile, which could be why the colors are off on the web.
This is an interesting perspective of this arch. I love the colors of the formations in this area. I think a slight contrast boost and a boost to the undersaturated colors (see TK's tutorial/masks) would make this pop even more. Good job.
Thanks on the color profile info.... thought it was in sRGB IE61966-2, Ill check that and watch more carefully.
As to lightroom, I know that when you edit its in ProPhoto space, so not sure how to edit in Lightroom if desiring conversions, as you cannot see the color space you end up in.
I will also check TK's tutorial though do you have link?

Tim,
Here is a link to Tony's Tutorials. You can create the masks on your own easy enough but the tutorial and actions are well worth whatever you want to donate.
In LR, you can control the conversion of color spaces in the export dialog or the external editing settings. When going from LR to Photoshop, I stay in the ProPhoto space. When exporting for web, I set the export dialog to convert to sRGB. Usually that conversion works fine, but now and then sRGB just doesn't cut it, especially with saturated colors and a relative colorimetric conversion, you'll get color shifts.
later!
