Peeking into an Iris
I didn't venture any further than my back yard tonight but managed to take a few pictures. Irises have a lot of interesting angles to explore (as well as colors to reproduce) and I'm sure I'll be back while they're blooming to find something else!

Canon 20D
ISO 100
100mm macro with 25mm extension tube
.8s at f/11

Tim a very cool image and in color to. I like the sweeping arcs of color that come together.

That is a unique perspective on the subject and one which has an interesting graphical structure, as each of the three central petals ends at one of the sides of a triangle formed by the bottom of the image and the two out of focus petals on the sides.

Oooo, this is really nice, Tim. I love how you framed the focused part with the oof petals. Beautiful work!

With the price of gas so high, I may be spending more time in the backyard too.

Oh this is sweet Tim! Love the intimate look here and the great use of selective focus and framing with the oof petals.

I think we're all going to be looking for shots closer to home if gas prices keep going up!
