Female Dotterel
I have just spent three days in the Cairngorms photographing this beautiful bird. I camped up there so I could photograph them in the best light but the walk up and down with camera gear and camping gear is something I wouldn't recommend as I am aching in places I didn't know existed.

Canon 1D M11, 500mm Lens, F5.6, 1/1000, ISO 200

Superb lighting. The background compliments the colours of the bird and the depth of field isolates it nicely. Wonderful image.

Beautiful!!! however I find the out of focus rock at the bottom of the image fairly distracting.

That's my boy. Naturephotography means pain :biggrin: I bet it slept better then in a car :wink:
