I'm selling my Canon 5d body after upgrading recently.
Included: Canon 5d body, and extras: five Canon batteries, four 2GB Sandisk Extreme III CF cards and a Kirk PZ107 QR camera plate.
$1600. I am essentially throwing in the extras for free. Paypal. You pay shipping cost.
The 5d features normal wear considering extensive outside use. There are a couple small dings on the body, paint wear on the hot shoe and some minor scratches on the LCD screen. The camera has been well cared-for and cleaned after each outing. 8,317 shutter actuations. It functions perfectly, sensor is in great shape and I am only selling because I've upgraded.

Full frame is wonderful Justin. Nice viewfinder, 17mm is 17mm, etc. And the 5d has a beautiful mix of large individual pixel size and high sensor resolution. Makes for some of the highest quality images available in the dSLR format. If I didn't have a need for big prints, I'd shoot with the 5d for a long time, I'm sure. There's always going to be something bigger and better in some way. But it's hard to beat the price, weight/size and image quality of the 5d.
You said, "If I didn't have a need for big prints..." I've heard the 5D can make some impressively large prints, so what's the deal? Are the 12 mps not cutting it? How are you enjoying your new 1DS III? That thing looks like a beast.
Didn't mean to confuse you. The 5d can produce beautiful "big prints." Depends on how you define "big". And it depends on your own quality standards. My own standards are admittedly very tough.
I have a couple of clients (critical art buyers) that ask for prints with sizes described in feet rather than inches ... print enlargements where image quality is critical. Not only because of the enlargement process, but also because of the nature of the display location (close viewing distance, high end location, etc.). And while the 5d images can be printed fairly large, I personally don't like printing larger than 20"x30" with 5d images. But I think they resolve fairly well up to 30x40. Others here print 5d images even larger and do very well at selling them.
There are so many factors to consider when talking about big prints - from intended viewing distance, to display area, etc. Email me if you want to chat more.
The 1dsIII is a thrill to use - from looking through the big viewfinder to looking the images at 100% on my screen. I've only done some testing and calibration so far. I intend to get it into the field for serious use this weekend, hopefully.
Just curious...have you ever messed with large format? It's tempted me for sure because of the quality of the images you can get. I am anxious to see the replacement for the 5D...if it ever surfaces.

EDIT: I'll have email again after the weekend.
What did you update to? Thanks.
Justin
I'll cover the shipping. Everything original is included.
Here are some pics ...
(Justin, I have a 1dsIII.)
I'm definitely tempted by your 5D. Is full frame all that it's cracked up to be? Thanks.

A new 5d is $1895 at B&H, after rebate.
(Justin, I've been tempted by LF quality, but I prefer SLR shooting.)

(HaHa. I may need to Craig. It's worth the weight though!)
