Grey Heron
A favourite bird of mine. Stopped of at a reserve near Cardigan on way home from work. This chap dropped in and spent a while preening and generally posing before dropping off to sleep just as I had to leave. I have tried for some time to get some decent shots of those beautiful head plumes and have finally succeeded. Light in right direction and the wind behind him showed off plumes to full effect.

Yes a great pic, which as Andy says would be better over to the left more.
Still pretty cool though.

Great detailed shot, I agree a very interesting bird and often difficult to photograph I always find them a challenge.

He just looks mean! Nice shot, but the bottom band of water is a bit distracting for me :smile:
