Ok ok, I know my first two image posts are Brown hares, but I just can't resist them and had to share this one with you. This was taken at dusk, I was waiting for something else, which didn't appear until it was pretty much dark, but hey. This beautiful animal sat right in front of me, and hopped past several times, trying to work out what I was. I am amazed at how relaxed he/she was!
Gave up trying to take shots at that speed and just enjoyed being so close - I could even hear the scrunching of the gravel path as he hopped...
C&C welcome!!
Edited to add: PP in CS3, not cropped, levels tweaked, sharpened, though looking at pic on here, looks like it could do with a bit more...I never seem to do it enough for web Original is sharp!! Honest!!
Thanks Andy Yes I was really too close, I really must save up for a zoom
I did a whole project on these when at uni, but only managed a couple of not very good at all shots - now I've finished uni they can't stop throwing themselves in front my lens...
Nice one Dawn, a bit of patient cloning can give you that extra space, you know one thing I never remember in this sort of situation is that you can take two + shots and merge together later in photoshop but do I remember no chance.
You mention a couple of things I love about what we do, getting very close to the wildlife and occasionally getting great shots as you have done here.

Only slight nit for me is that the whiskers are a bit too tight to the left edge - a full whisker-length of plain BG would make it just right.
Excellent result in low light conditions, and a fine head shot
