Gigrin Red Kite
I suppose I'd better post a Kite from last weekend too

This a composite of two developments of the same RAW file. One was done with a daylight WB (5300K) to bring out the blue in the sky and the other was done with a cloudy WB (6000K) to enhance the colour of the bird. Cropped to vertical. I've um'd and ah'd over cropping a bit off the bottom to make the wing tips equidistant from the frame edge. In the end I decided to present it as-is and be guided by any feedback.

E-510, 50-200mm zoom + 1.4x TC, ISO 400, 1/1000 @ f5.6

As is for me, it gives the room to follow the birds line of sight.

Hi Paul

I think the composition is fine but just a tad tight in the frame - nice shot!

Well caught shot Paul :toast:

Easy to add a fraction more room, if it suits you.

Nice one :toast:

I like the comp and a fine capture but it looks a tad light on my monitor (could be monitor of course).

Nice symmetrical shot Paul. If I was going to alter the crop at all, I would add a bit to the top rather than remove any from the bottom.

Lovely looking bird in a good pose, agree adding more space to the top preferable to cropping the bottom
