Is anyone aware of a way in PS or other program to add a bleed and cut marks to a psd or tiff file to be sent to a commercial printer? I've been able to do this in PS in the print dialog screen but it appears this doesn't save the settings to the image, only for print output.
I'm working on a set of meter compensation cards and the printer wants about $40.00 to do this setup so if I can get it done myself to keep costs down I would certainly like to.
The easiest way for you to do this (using Photoshop only) is to simply extend the canvas to accommodate both. Pull some guides to the trim position and use the pencil tool to draw marks from the edge of bleed away from the trim line. Generally, a shop will want .125 inch bleed, but follow their specs exactly, to avoid additional costs. This can be don on a separate layer, if you want. Feel free to email me directly if you want or need more detailed instructions.
