"All that jet photography is working wonders!!!! "

"Many a true word is said in jest" as the old saying goes, but I think you are spot-on Craig, it has definitely honed my reactions and speed at aquiring and locking focus on moving subjects... just as long as I don't nod off; I was wakened from a hill-top snooze yesterday by the loudest closest GR4 Tornado yesterday... and still managed two (soft) shots of it!

There are many more Pied and Yellow Wagtail flight shots on my blog.

A first for me also Nigel!!

Even a big bird that has level flight is difficult for me, so capturing a small bird with undulating flight paths is some feat :toast: :toast:

Very hard shot to get! All those planes do help.

Well David it was quite a few frames, but I did get a very high hit rate, only binned about 60% and I even got some Yellow Wagtails too..... lots are here now http://www.flickr.com/photos/nigelblake/sets/72157604198160878/detail/?page=36

Nigel

What an excellent shot of such a difficult flight subject. I really like these. Well worth the effort.
