I edited this image because I liked it. Then after I edited I decided I did not care for it nearly as much for a couple reasons. Anyway, I was not going to post it then I figured I would as I am curious on thoughts on this one. I was with my bro who I enjoy hiking with very much but he is not into photography to the extent I am so I know I need to go back here when I have more time to walk more of this creek and shoot this spot again too.

40D / 10-22 @ 17 / f/9 and 1.6 sec
ISO 100
Polarizer

Thanks in advance for all honest comments!

That little spot is getting worked a lot, I see! It was much better there a few years ago - just not the moss there used to be.. I still like that stream a lot, and the elements in yours are some of my favs, including the arched branch... good job with getting low on this one.. I like that...

That's a nice contrast between the foreground and background Adrian. I'd recommend reducing the brightness of either the foreground or the background; to my eye they compete with each other. Usually I like to see a photo lead from darker foreground to brighter background leading the eye into the photo, but this would be an interesting shot to bring down the brightness of the background vegetation to emphasize the foreground as a comparison.

You're right, Ned - that arched tree needs an agent! I like the scene a lot, especially the very close foreground -- but would suggest less crop on the left, and bumping up the saturation a bit (probably a victim of compression) as fine tuning. The detail in the foreground rocks is really nice, and a nice departure from black basalt.

Nice work Adrian. Interesting perspective....Composition is just a tad front heavy for my tastes...but not a deal breaker by any means. Really nice shot.

Really nice, Adrian. I love your foreground arrangement.
