Minnesota state bird
This Common Loon had just swallowed a good sized sunfish and was cruising past my dock. I shoot our loons all the time but I particularly liked this result. Baby pictures should be coming soon.

Canon 40D, 500 f4L + 1.4X, f5.6, 1/400, ISO400, tripod, sidekick.

This is now my favorite loon image. The detail is incredible and the flowing lines of the water make this outstanding.
