Not entirely a nature image, as such, but this was one of the better images from this past weekend. The annual Great Lakes Kite Festival was the big event on the beach and my favorite kite flyers, the Windjammers, were on hand as usual. Last year I tried to capture a similar comp, but due to a grouping of colorful banners at the water's edge, I was unable to come up with a satisfactory image. This time, the shore was clear and the kites stood out nicely against one of the best skies we've had for this event.
The Windjammers is comprised of a group of 4 men, each with a string of 10 Dyna Kites, in red, white, and blue. Capturing all 4 over the pier was impossible, but 2 will do!
