This may be a bit premature, but I was wondering if the peak lupine bloom appears to be on track for mid june as in years past. I am trying to plan a 7-10 day trip to Acadia NP,ME and Sugar Hill,NH. If you know of any other favorite spots and would like to share the info that would be great. Thanks for any input.

Hi Ed,

I haven't heard much about the lupine yet, but it's remarkably consistent year to year. I think that the sugar hill site starts to update in about a week and a half, and then we'll have a good idea. Last year was a bad year for sugar hill, so this year should be great for these biannuals...

Mine is just starting to cone out in southern NH, so I'll be seeing some to photograph soon...

As for locations...I found that Randolph to Jefferson bloomed a few days after Sugar Hill last year, and the entire Isreal river from Gorham to Lancaster provided great shooting with easy access to Rt. 2.

I get out of school the 18th, and plan on being in sugar hill 2 hours later...let me know of your plans... :wavey:

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the info. I will shoot you an email within a week about some concrete plans. Right now I am waiting on my brother to decide and firming up my dates for vacation at work. :wavey:

I'm taking our outing club hiking this weekend in Franconia Notch, and am going to sneak away to the sampler field at sunrise on Saturday morning. By chance, was anyone planning on being there???

Hey Jim,
My brother and I are leaving early in the morning on the 12th for a few days in Acadia. After that we are going to head over to the whites and should be in Sugar Hill on the 18th for a few days. Are you still planing on being there on the 18th? :wavey:

Hi Ed,

Looks like late on the 19th now...I have an extra day of 'professional development' to go through and I'll be there.

When I was there saturday morning...not much going on...alot of sporatic blooms in the field, but the views on the website seem much improved from this heatwave...

Even if the lupines are somehow past in sugar hill on the 19th, we can head over to Jefferson which seem to be behind...

Hope to see you Ed...

Anyone else in???

Jim
