I have seen this described as the prettiest waterfall in Kentucky. It is certainly a great spot to spend some time. It is nestled in the Clifty Wilderness in the Red River Gorge area. I have seen a few shots of the falls when the water is a bit lower. That's when the falls really comes to life, but it certainly rates up there any time, IMO. The hike is steep but short and explores some beautiful forest. Just around the corner is a natural bridge that spans the creek. I can't wait to go back.

Beautifully detailed waterfall and lovely vegetation, especially that tree or bush on the far right. Is that some kind of magnolia? Usually brown water bugs me, but here there's a nice shimmer to the water's surface, and the patterns of green and brown add interest to the image.

Randy, The vegetation hanging over the ledge is Rhododendron.

Hey man, you need to check out Moonbow Falls (aka Cumberland Falls, in the state park by the same name - largest waterfall in Kentucky, although only 60' tall, but impressive, especially on the night of a full moon!). I hiked there one time from here in Arkansas (on my way to the east coast with a group of hikers that were hiking across the United States back in 1980-81).

By the way you can get rid of that muddy water by adjusting the yellow hue in either PS or ACR.

I have been down to Cumberland Falls, but not on the night of a full moon. In fact, the day I went the conditions were less than poor. Sunny, windy, and not a cloud in the sky. It is a pretty impressive waterfall. It it certainly on my list to photograph while I'm here. There are also several other waterfalls in that area when the water is up. Maybe next spring.

Strange, I thought I'd posted a comment already but see that I am mistaken so .... this is a beautiful spot Dominic and you've captured its essence well. I particularly like the one fall to the far right that comes in at a right angle to the main fall. That Rhoddie in full bloom would really be nice. Something to go back for! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful waterfall, Dominic! Glad you're finding an abundance of landscapes to shoot in Kentucky. Except the rhododendron, it looks very much like Arkansas. Thanks for sharing!

Dominic, This is really a nice waterfall and I really like the movement in the water below the falls.

Very relaxing image. Being there must be awesome. When I saw the title I thought you'd made a trip to Arkansas. Thanks for sharing! I really enjoy your work.
