not a normal subject for me but i quite liked the texture and colours when i saw it, normally pass such things by but now i have two bodies
don't really know what to make of this shot as there is no real subject, thought the yellow flowers do draw your eye
350D + kit lens (at 45mm) + polarizer
1/800 @ f5.6
ISO 400
full frame

Always worth a shot Jack, if something catches your eye!!
Although the yellow shrubs draw my eye, the shadow area on the bottom-left also draw my eye.
To me, it would work better if the bottom quarter was cropped away, placing the yellow shrubs a bit nearer the bottom
Worth experimenting on, me thinks!!

Looking at this with the river cropped out and it works quite well, but with the river in it it seems too cluttered.
Cheers,
John

now crop the left to about 1cm away from the main tree and you have a diagonal leading you to the wee patch of light beyond the tree.
How hard was that?

I don't know anything about landscape type shots, but I'm a fisherman and I want to see the river! Everybody looks for something different don't they?

Hi Jack,
I like the third attempt best! However I'm with Eric regards to wanting to see the river!
