Just South of Springfield where the James River turns into Springfield Lake, standing in the right spot lets you avoid most signs of urbanity. This is a work in progress - I've changed something nearly every time I've looked at it!

Tim, I really like the sky here, so much to look at with the wide contrast. The movement in the water and slow bend of the "lake" lead you nicely into the exciting sky. Very nice!
The foreground motion is in unusual juxtaposition with the mirror-like serenity of the water, but it almost lends an element of threat, or at least dissonance, to the image, almost as if there were something hidden and powerful coursing towards the viewer. No doubt the somberness of the trees contributes to that effect.
In the first version, the reflections next to the bank seemed a bit too light to me; I like how you darkened them in the second version. The lines in the water give me the sensation that I'm moving upstream... very nice. I'm with Wayne and Tom on the sky. Thanks for sharing.
