Independence Pass won't open by this Memorial Day weekend

Click the link for details. CDOT predicts it will open on May 30, which in most years is usually Memorial Day. :rolleyes:

Geez, that second shot can't possibly be recent, can it? Can it??? We all know right where that is, where the road first starts its sharp ascent out of the valley bottom. It looks like the dead of winter in that photo. Wow!

Hopefully it'll be a great wildflower year with all the snow this winter.

I thought Shrine Ridge was great last year; I can only imagine what it will be like this year! The question is, did we have *too much* snow in some of the prime areas...
