OK...actually northern CA. This is Nickel Creek, just south of Crescent City, which for all intents is a lot more like OR than CA. Everyone's Columbia River waterfall photos have been getting me inspired, but it doesn't look like I'll get in a trip up there this year. Falls are a little harder to search out down here, but what there is can be pretty nice. I think I'll post this one up in ESS too.
My apologies for being absent the last few months. I have been popping in and admiring everyone's work, but there hasn't been enough spare quality time to post photos or meaningful comments.
5D, 28-135mm IS, 4 sec @ f/18. Two shots w/ circular polarizer, one to enhance foliage, the other for water reflection, then blended in PS.
This is a very nice falls, and the vegetation is fantastic. The heavy fern growth is quite pleasing. My only nit is that the LLC doesn't add much and distracts my eye a bit.
Good to see you posting, Sean! I like this, too, but would echo John's comment. Burning it back to a similar level of dark as the rock just above might help keep the focus on the stream. Great ferns!
Thanks for the tip John and Tom! I got similar advice over on ESS. I agree. Very helpful. I'll give it a try and see how it looks.

Sean,
This is really nice.....if I were working the scene....I would be standing where the rocks border up to the pool of water.....have my camera about 6 inches off the ground, vertical and shoot the falls, the pool and the killer light coming through the trees!!!! ...just an idea!
Gorgeous shot, Sean! Oh, brother, that's nice! I like how the upper cascade splits into a Y, as if mirroring the trees above. And I am enjoying how the flow comes right at the viewer on a journey through the pool, across and around the boulders and then on its way downstream. Nice to see you around here!
