I thought I'd post this here since it is the same scene that Adrian and Zach posted in ESS. It turned out to be my favorite spot also. I had such an awesome time yesterday meeting Marc and Adrian, and just being out there again. I tried not to get too consumed by photography that I miss how incredibly lush and fresh the gorge is right now. It was quite a treat for me, even though I'm in the worst shape I've ever been in, and now in the worst pain I've been in...lol. Anyway, here's my take and thanks again guys it was alot of fun.
It may be the same spot, but this looks quite different than both Adrian and I's comps. It's another beauty, what a spot that was. I know how you feel, I'm definitely a bit sore and tired today. That's what we get for trying to keep up with Marc
Love this spot you guys found.... I've been up there all week, and this is the best I've seen it in some time. Agree with the pain - I put in a lot more miles that I every have, and this day after the day after leaves me a little sore! This is the first time I have really regretted going back to work after a vacation - usually I am ready to go back... you guys all handled this scene uniquely and skillfully - very nice work!

Nice to meet you as well Jeremy! This is a great image too, I like it being vertical and the rock is a great FG anchor. Really is fascinating to have 4 photographers all at the same spot shooting almost on top of each other at times and still getting quite different perspectives. I hope Marc eventually posts his arch branch shot that Zack and I both tried and to no avail, at least for me. I too was a little sore, but I love that feeling. Means I got a good workout and kick my butt back in shape for summer hiking and backpacking. Our outing covered ground that felt at times a little like what you would see Bear Grylls from Man vs Wild!
In my humble opinion, this is awesome. There is a lot to like about the the composition here, including the flow of the water from the UL to LR and the balance the trees give in the UR quadrant (very interesting branches as well). The condensation-glow does not look overdone.
Variations could include a slightly shifted comp. with less emphasis on the foreground rock, an adjustment of the hue/saturation of the moss on the foreground rock (looks a hair flat on my monitor), and I might tone down the highlights on the water in the upper part. Those aren't really nits, just possibilities.
