Memorial Day (OT)
This weekend as you head out to spead some time creating those beautiful images of the natural world. Take a moment to pause and reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that you have the freedoms you enjoy.

Remember freedom comes with a price.

We live in the home of the free because of the brave.

Also take a moment to thank a Veteran if you speak to one for being a survivorand for serving.

As a retired veteran, many thanks. It was always nice to be recognized by a stranger in a store or restaurant or something. As one who has survived combat, keep our deployed troops in your heart, it means a lot to them to know they have support at home.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

As someone who never served, all I can say is, THANK YOU! Thanks for helping to keep this the greatest country ever. To all vets, past and present, thanks for your service and your sacrifice.

yeah I have never serv, but I have the utmost respect for those who have, and for those who have gone to war to protect this country (the greatest country on Earth I boldly proclaim), my hat goes off to you.

I am going to visit my dad's grave site today, he was a WWII and Korean War vet

Right on, James. I am a vet, as are all the men, and some of the women in my family. my Grandfather survived 25 B-17 missions over Germany, and Europe during WWll. My wish is for everyone to realize, that you don't have to support, or agree with a war to support and appreciate a soldier. Nobody wants to fight a war, but it's those who do, because it has to be done, that we should be thankful for.

As a Veteran myself I want to thank all who commented to show their support.
These photograre part of my assignment this past and current week to document and write about for the Fort Carso Mountaineer newspaper where I work. They werre taken Friday during the Fort Carson Glbal War on Terrorism ceremony. We added 46 new names to the memorial spanning from last year's ceremony to date.

For those who are in the Pikes Peak region and want to visit the memorial, go to Highway 115 and drive down to Fort Carson's Main Gate where you will see the satue of Gen. Kit Carson. The Memorial sits there.

Thaks for the reminder James. My grandfather was a bombadier during WW II in the pacific. I always try to thank veterans I know on this day and Veterans Day in the fall. I cannot do enough to repay the debt from their sacrafice.
