Having not been to pleased with the results from 9 or 21 point BIF AF shots, about a 2% capture rate.
So decided to play with the 51 point 3d thingymajiggy, the capture rate shot up and whilst fun to see the sensoer jumping all over the place once locked it was brilliant.
A tall order indeed. Capturing a swift in flight is sooooo tough. Looks like the new setting hve worked. I would keep at it and see if you can get a shot with full wings spread in view - not asking too much is it? hehehe
Well captured flight shot Paul. Its not too easy to keep up with something like a swift! I like the pose a lot. I agree that the first post looked unnatural being way too sharpened - repost much better.

Well caught Paul.............maybe ease back on the sharpening though, as there appears to be a noticable halo around the bird.
I'm having trouble with cormorants, so i don't think i shall be having a crack at these birds, any time soon

First one 'appeared' to me that the radias was set too high in the usm function, giving it a slightly mottled look also.
Repost seems far more 'on-the-money' to my eye!!

Superb flight shot! I have trouble with BIF shots whether I'm using 9, 21 and 51 points!
