This was a place I had on my "to do" list for a while.....today seemed like the perfect time to get this out of the way....although it almost did not happen......heading down this scree I almost turned around about 4 times thinking to myself, "Darren you are F-ing nuts"....and then I would take one more step...well one after the other led me to this magical place inspired by Marc A and Zack S.......and I want to personally thank them for their inspiration and dedication to the world of Nature Photography.........

Certainly greened up a little more in the two weeks since I was there. If you thought it was hairy like that, try doing it in the rain. Snapped about 3 frames and I was o-u-t!
Hehe, this is a scary spot to get to sometimes, but there is no spot quite like it. This is also a tough place to shoot, it seems like there is always spray from the creek blowing the foliage around. Look at the flow over Metlako Falls, wow. My only suggestion would be to move left to get a clearer view of the falls, with the full spring foliage it might not have been possible, did you happen to get a shot from that side? Nice work regardless.
Getting back up was easy.....getting down was scary when my backpack would get caught on things.....
I spent about an hour here....the air was very calm and I really enjoyed being there.....
I took several comps of the scene so I will see which ones work and which ones don't!

I looked at this spot long and hard and decided it was not worth losing it trying to get down.... glad you made it though...safely! cool looking shot - really shows the power that Metlako is now...
It's an interesting scene and this photo is very well done but I've never thought the comp was worth the effort. Neither Marc's nor Zack's nor this one rise above "curious", IMHO of course.
That's funny, Darren, I've been in those moments of doubting my sanity a few times, too. I finally bought a good climbing rope to help let myself down to places that are a bit too steep. It really helps the peace of mind to have that safety line when you need it!
Darren, I think this is one of your better waterfall shots. I especially like the 5-finger ferns in the fg that add the nice lacey touch. But, wow, sounds pretty tough and dangerous if this was about all you could get...

I might have to agree with Mark about this shot not being a life risker to get.
