Kestrel
Found this Kestrel working the inlet area of Cuckmere Haven and he co-operated for a while. Several flight shots which looked good in RAW in lightroom but when I exported to PS3 they lost quality and my adjustment just made them worse. Clearly I have a need for more tuition in the art of PP can anyone recommend a non over technical media please? It may even be my basic setup is wrong.

1D3 hand held ISO400 500mm f/6.3 1/125 sec

Comment & Critique most welcome.

Thanks

Barry

Hi Barry,

Lovely capture! I really like the composition and feather detail!

I forget why now but all images look punchier in lightroom and tend to look flatter when exported to Photoshop!

nice pose and lighting, the comp doesn't quite do it for me though

Nice light on the bird.
I agree with Andy its a bit tight on the bottom for me.
The other thing that may be worth a try is to flip the image so that the bird is on the left. Sometimes these type of shots look better one way more than the other.

Nice one Barry,

A bit tight at the bottom for me also, but a decent profile shot :toast:

Thanks for looking and I'll work on the approach. The reason its tight at the bottom is a white painted arrow on the footpath marker its sitting on. Which I thought was distracting my PP expertise is not up to removing objects as yet.

I really appreciate the comments and pointers its a great help.
