On the forest floor east of Glenwood there were these large patches of carpeting color. I pulled over to better see what they were, and liked this little scene of leaves and needles mixed in with the flowers. Comments and suggestions more than welcome, and if anyone knows what they are I'd sure appreciate an ID.

Good eye for finding this beautiful little scene. The Glenwood area has so many interesting micro-environments. It is truly my favorite area, I just wish it were a little closer to my house.
Great juxtaposition of old Oak leaves from the Fall and new spring growth. I don't know what the flowers are but the leaves underneath look Holly-like.

Very nice John, great composition.

I tried to look up those flowers but couldn't find anything.
