Vine Maple, Old Growth Forest
This image taken on my hike with Zack, Jeremy and Adrian amidst one of the most beautiful old growth stands of Fir I have seen anywhere. I tried to use the lines of the Vine Maple to lead the eye around the various beautiful details....which, btw, look much better printed huge.

Thanks for the comments.

Marc,
I really like images that invoke organized chaos that work like this one.It really says where you were and what it was like being there ( I still remember Mary's Peak last year very often!).
For me the foreground of the ferns really anchor this image as well.
Really nice.

Very cool Marc. I love how it looks like a daddy long legs crawling over us. That was my first impression of this vine maple in the field, very spider like. Your dark processing compliments this scene well. It's amazing how different your comp is than mine, and I was only 3 feet away from you.

Marc,

I love the ten or more shades of green in this image. The vine maple really pulls me into the center of the shot. I agree with Jack, you have given order to a busy place. Well done.

Aahh yes, that was a great location and tree. Good find Marc! This image represents the scene well. And I echo Zack's comment. My image too I like but is different than this as well. Thanks for sharing even though I know you are busy right now!

Make that "try" a successful one, Marc. Nice shot!

The lines of those branches really makes this shot, adding a lot of interest in the dense greens.
