Hi Everyone,
This is set-up #2! I should have used a teleconverter here, but I was trying for some Collared Doves and Wood Pigeons when this lovely little House Sparrow hopped on the perch. So hence the very large crop of around 72% (28% of Full Frame). Let me know what you think!
Does need the gamma bringing down some but a nice pose, it is just starting to suffer a little from the large crop IMO, (won't mention what looks like a dust bunny to the top just to the left... oops I did )
I agree with Mark Greens comments its great to see the close up details. The processing details are also so useful to compare results. The techs lose me sometimes and I also struggle to see the different results others see. Could be my uncalibrated monitor.
Nice picture. At the moment I'm also tring to get a sparrow in front of my lens. These are the only birds (together with some blackbirds) visiting my garden at the moment. I didn't manage to get them as your sparrow. May be next week. If I succeed I'll post the picture.
Nice pic Paul............ and thank you for posting the very detailed techs.
This type of post is one of the things that makes this a great forum. A readily available subject, a great shot and all the detail on how you got there.

Happy shooting,
The lighting doesn't look too forgiving, but I like the pose you've captured and good composition. Sharpness and focus on the eye look bang on.
A nice shot Paul , like the comp and Adam has covered my only nit.
Andy...
nits already covered. do you use auto WB ???
Mark
I reckon the gamma dropped to darken the whole thing up a bit would help but no big deal.
