Soldier beetle on sentry duty
I think I've been spotted!

40D, Sigma 180mm, 1/500@f5.6, ISO640, tripod & cable release. Cropped a little from top and LHS.

Went out for several hours today (have a while off before I start a new job) as conditions looked good for some macro photography. Intention was to photograph orchids but after spending a little while on a Southern Marsh got distracted by insects. Spotted this guy, was a bit of a breeze so I used ISO640 (after seeing good results and having advice from people on this forum on using the 40D at high ISOs).

It's really nice not to have to wait a week or more to get your images back from the developer!

C&C welcome.
