Why Polarize
This is just water going over a rock on a stream in the gorge. The books say polarize right? ... well not always..........The green moss growing on the rock, well under the water would not have shown up like this if I did. I shot it both ways but obviously this is the one I liked. You need the right amount of light and patience is a virtue. It can't be overcast and it can't be bright sun to get this effect. Like everything in what we do, it takes a bit of luck too.
Sharpen to your own tastes!

Cool Image!! Love the flowing green lines.

Yes, it seems like every rule in photography does not always hold. That's what makes it interesting and fun.

I might tone down the green in the white water on the right but otherwise I like it.

I polarize, therefore I am! :toast:

I agree about the green in the frothy water on the right. Selective color balance with layer masks would really help. This is a really cool shot though and the story makes it even better.
