Here's a little man and nature from Siouxon Creek area. It was a great 8 mile hike with Mark H. and Rick L., although I had to carry Rick and his gear the last 3 miles. It was still a beautiful hike with some great company. The area should be prime in about 2 weeks. Alot of the ferns were still matted from the snow that had been there, but there was a lot of new growth getting ready to pop. Awesome area for a few shots, but the storm of this last year had really brought down alot of the old growth and new for that matter and most of the scenes were pretty messy to deal with photographically.
Crap...I am not sure why I can't keep my monitor calibrated....this looks horribly dark. The shot has some wonderful highlights in the trees, but you'd never know it by looking at this. Ouch a hundred views and no one even says anything....
Hey Jeremy, Funny you should post this...I was thinking about this place the other day.....
did you shoot the waterfall that is just to your right as you cross over the other bridge.....its the waterfall that flows over the trail......its my favorite!!!!
As for this image.....it is dark.....but I am asking the bigger question...where are the ferns....there should be ferns in the foreground......they were all over the place when I was there last year....I think with a little more processing or monitor calibration, this could really sing!
The falls you're talking about is down trail another couple of miles at the second bridge. Like I said the ferns are kinda not there in a big way, and in this comp it really wasn't an option since there were no ferns for this FG perspective.
I am just a bit confused about my sytem now. I rebuilt my computer and updated my spyder2pro to the latest version that works with Vista and I thought it was all ok. I processed the image on a calibrated monitor, so I thought. The image looked great, bright, vibrant and interesting. I posted it, turned off computer and went to bed. When I turned it on this morning it was like it hadn't been calibrated, even with the same profile....? I recalibrated it and the image looks crazy dark still....? Not sure what is going on....but I get to the bottom of it sooner or later.
Hey buddy...let's just say that you are confused and leave it at that . The comp is pretty good though...but yeah, it's dark.
Thanks for giving me that 3 mile piggy back ride...proving your massive manliness

Aaahh, well that's your problem... you are running Vista! Damn that OS, it's trash from what I have experienced and all of my PC's/laptops are still on XP, even my brand new laptop. I tried Vista and took it back to the shop in a week and asked for XP. Ok, enough of that. I like the comp but do agree it's a little dark which looks like is just an issue with this web version.
It was fun meeting up with you last week. Keep me posted if you want to go out again Jeremy!

I like the dark processing here....makes the water and lighted areas stand out. Too bad that viewing platform/bridge is so visible here. Really nice exposure and processing throughout.
