I today had a meeting with my CPS rep regarding the problems that i have been having with my camera, i asked if it would not be easier to replace the body as this is there 3rd attempt to fix the inconsistant AF, He imformed me that a directive has been sent out from Canon Europe telling them not to replace any MK3 cameras and to repair them until the customer is satisfied with it-no matter how many times it takes-Nice
So i thought i would give people the heads up if they are looking to buy new MK3'S that there will be no swapping over as before but that there gear will always be sent off for repair or testing, At least i am CPS and they lend me gear until mine is back-if you are not then that could leave you high and dry for a week or 2
Dave it's a pity your not based in the UK, as far as I understand it over here you have to give a company a reasonble opportunity to rectify the fault. If they don't then you can either ask for the item to be replaced or your money returned.
I use to be a canon user and I'm so glad I didn't upgrade to a 1D MkIII, the way canon has treated its high end users is disgracefull. Hope they sort it out soon for you.
