Flatirons Fog
Seeing fog this morning, I ran (figuratively speaking) over to Chautauqua near Boulder and wandered around. I was hoping for some flower pics, but the flowers are pretty beat up by the rain. There are a few good wild iris and some lupine, and I'm sure some stuff will be blooming next week. The grasses have really greened up in the last week.

This image is a glacial erratic and ponderosa pine in fog. I used a Nikon D300, 16-85mm lens and polarizer. I chose to back off on the polarization to keep a little reflection. Fully polarized, it didn't look like water.

Here you can see how much things have greened up.

Pretty sweet shots Dave!. The mist really creates a great atmosphere, and the Flatirons are so different in this kiinda weather!. It does look like it's greened up nicely, I may have to take a wander around on the weekend if flowers are starting to come out!.

That first shot is totally cool, Dave. Some banding on the second--may be this monitor. I took some fog shots on the front range yesterday, hope to post in a couple.

That's pretty green on that second shot, Dave! Looks like things are beginning to shape up nicely. I plan on taking a short tour this afternoon to assess some possibilities and then getting out this weekend to take advantage of whatever I find.

They're both very cool. I like the inside-the-forest feel of the first one, and you know my thoughts on the second.

I really like the 1st one. Great comp, with the dominant pine. The reflection is a very nice touch.

The rolling texture on green and the fog are nice in #2.

Wonderful stuff, Dave. I especially like the greens in the 2nd one, which is really cool to see because we're still emerging from the browns of winter

I like the second one a lot. Makes me miss Boulder.
