Just thought I would quickly post an image from Tuesday night. I'm starting to use the various naturally occurring props and stages in the immediate area. I have been laying food on this log for some time and now the young badgers make a bee-line straight for it. Last night was a lovely session. I had laid the food down near my usual sett entrance and then the log. By the time I had returned to my camera, the badgers were already out!
There were three young badgers enjoying a good feed. The encounter lasted over and hour, with reasonable light. Then a rifle shot rang out and the badgers legged it. I am guessing a deer poacher was is in the area. I liked the clear background of this shot particularly and will probably retry for a shot with the badger's head up.
Camera Model: Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II
Shutter speed: 1/60 sec
Aperture: f/4
Exposure mode: Av
Flash: Off
Metering mode: Evaluative
Drive mode: Single frame shooting
ISO: 400
Lens: 600mm
AF mode: AI Servo AF
Thanks for the comments. I wasn't sure when I first looked at this, but it has won me over. I do love the secretive/intimate feel and the clear and uncluttered view. Heading back tonight, so will see what I can get. Cheers.
