Made my weekly trek up into the San Juans (north of Durango) yesterday. My main objective was to check out the south end of Lime Creek road and areas adjacent to it. While the aspens were leafing out nicely all the way to Purgatory, the areas north of there still have a ways to go. There were some groves leafing out along Lime Creek road, but they were definitely in the early stages. The shot above was taken from a series of beaver ponds not too far from the Potato Lake trailhead. It was very windy and this was the closest thing to a reflection I got in the hour that I hung around. A herd of elk passing by was another bonus while I passed the time (too bad I only brought a wide angle with me). A return visit is definitely in order when I get a calmer day.
I like this Guy. It has a nice serene feel. I like the pond reflection and the texture of the wind waves on the lake. I can imagine sitting against a rock just daydreaming.
Nice job on the processing. The only suggestion I have is a slight crop on the bottom to remove the cloud reflections. They are a little distracting to me and pull away from the peak reflection.

I envy your proximity to the San Juans!
