Reed Warbler + Repos
Taken yesterday.

E-510, 300/f2.8 + 2x TC, ISO 400, 1/400 @ f8, cropped about 15% from left, a bit of additional blurring applied to the vegetation above the bird's head

cracker, my local reed warblers are a lot more skulking in nature

That Oly 2x converter seems very well matched, and is becoming tempting indeed

The bird is nice and sharp with plenty of detail-however it is very noisey for the ISO, The processing of the reed above the head is very obvious and i think cloning it out would be better

Thanks for the feedback. Here's a version with the reed cloned out.

Mike, skulking seems to be the norm for these birds IME. I was just lucky to more across one who was in a more showy mood  I'm very pleased with the 300/2x combination. It's very good wide open and even better stopped down to f8.

Very nice shot Paul , repost is much better though still a little noisy , it's a good job on capturing one out in the open :toast:

Absolutely fantastic composition. I agree there's still some noise - hope you can correct that because it is definitely worth it.
