I am shopping for a new Canon 5D and wondering if anyone has found good pricing on this and maybe where. I have seen some priced in the $1150.00 range and call if they have Canon 1 year warranty and they say yes. Still very sceptical at this price so just wondering if anyone has purchased one lately and at a good price. I know they will be coming out with a new one shortly but wife really doesn't want to wait.
Thanks
Dennis

There is a store in Las Vegas, somewhat directly across from the Bellagio, and their prices are about $1000 less than market price. I just don't remember the name of the store.

Most of the time, any place that claims it is selling something for much less than B&H is a scam. If you are trying to order from the place tha advertises the lowest price, you will almost certainly get scammed and end up paying a lot more.

Two places to check that I've found to be very useful :

Reseller Ratings : Will have user ratings of various online places. Stores that are scams (which usually advertise VERY low prices, as Kent pointed out) will have like a 2 or 3 out of 10. Most of those places do fill some orders, and things work fine, but many people get the wrong item, or a refurb instead of new, or an import that has no warranty.

My Simon : This site collects prices from a lot of online retailers, so you can see them at once. They also have ratings pulled from CNET, but I don't really trust them as much as the above site. Here's the page for the Canon 5D. The cheapest place has some awful reviews on Reseller Ratings.

Anyway, the combination of the two is usually a great way to find a good price. One caveat, My Simon doesn't seem to keep very good track of Amazon's prices, so you might want to check it out there, even if it shows up in My Simon.

Allen's Camera has them for $1799. Allen's is very reputable. Highly Recommended. Tell him Barry from Memphis sent you.
