Spent about 15 mins crawling down a dyke side in an attempt to get closer. For what ever reason I had to stand up to cross the road only to find they didnt bat an eye lid. Quiet funny realy when I look back.
Dont know about anybody else but just love to hear these calling or is it squabbling.

The bird in the background is a sleeping female Eider Matt.
I have them both active but the idea of this image was to show the fact that while one nods the other stands or in this case sits on gaurd if you see what I mean.
I very rarely say this with your images Major, but this doesn't quite work for me. The shadows are a bit too heavy with little detail left in the rock, black plumage, and the other bird. Must have been a difficult one to expose with such a tonal range from sunlit whites to heavy shadow. Sorry.
Now thats a bit better at least I am getting some feedback. Sometimes because its your image you cant see the wood for the trees so all comments good or bad are helpful. Thank you.

I have to agree with Elliot. Your stuff is so good as a standard that this one looked slightly "lost " and was not an expected "Major " job to me.
Just being honest which I am sure you appreciate
Cheers

Beautiful! Love that soft feel to the image!
Really nice image! I see these every day up here on Fair Isle and I love hearing them too. Not very duck-like!

Not a completely comfortable comp, to my eye, but can't put my finger on it.
Possibly the slightly uphill feel.
Nice shot nevertheless
