Incoming Bonxie
Here's one of the Fair Isle great skuas (Bonxie) doing what they do best!

I used a standard zoom lens manual focused to a few metres in front of me and kept the button down as it got close. And I managed to avoid getting hit on the head!

Canon EOS 30D
Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 EX DG Macro at 64mm
ISO 400
1/1250 at f/8.0
Minimal processing in Lightoom & Elements.

I like this Adam!!

The short lens definately gives a different perspective, and its worked a treat :toast:

Great composition, and lovely light. I love seeing animals in their habitats like this!

I couldn't agree more with Jeremy. Maybe a touch more space on the right wouldn't hurt, but I wouldn't want to lose too much off the right. Nice warm light.

Hi Adam,

Very good shot. Impressive use of a wide angle lens. Love everything about it.

Thanks a lot for your comments! There's something unnerving about having these flying straight at you, good fun though.
