I was out shooting a sunrise yesterday from a favorite bluff of mine when I turned around and saw this collection of Wild Crocus blooms. There was no wind and so I took advantage of the opportunity. The sun was hitting this flower from the right and almost made the petals translucent.

I've applied a gaussian blur to the background and can't decide of I'll leave it that way or not.

Very nice work on this, Rod. Nice detail in the blooms, and the blur works well too. I'd probably try to clean up the little spider webs if it were mine, but that's just a personal preference. Beautiful light.

Nice find, Rod, I like the light coming from the right and I would keep the gaussina blur in the background.

Nice work Rod. Really nice specimen and a good job isolating the subject from the bg.
