Well, the badger project continues despite the recent weather. I had an amazing session with this young cub (you can see how young he his by the way the fur is so thin and patchy and exposes his skin) which was out from about 3:00pm until 8:15pm. He did come and go during that time, but was usually snuffling around in the long grass. This is the same log as the previous post, just from a different shooting angle.
I have forced nuts, dried fruit and mealworms into the cracks and knot holes. The young badger seemed to relish digging them out. I would much rather engage their natural drives than to simply offer a pile of food. The light was beautiful here as the sun was just disappearing behind the clouds and horizon and just lit this small patch on the woodland floor.
As I was using f/2.8, I had to pick and choose my moments when the face and body were parallel to me. I was especially pleased to capture this moment with the badger just looking up and capturing a catch light in the eye.
C&C welcomed. Thanks for looking.

Very nice Elliott just know that feeling when most of the time there is no eyelight and then suddenly there is. This sort of thing is what makes wildlife photography so exciting.
Its a great looking image.
I've been feeding a set for about a week now and spent a couple of hours watching it last night for the first time and the effort paid off 20 ft from my first wild badger feeding on my peanuts. It was amazing, just as well I didi'nt take any shots my heart was pounding..
I was using a bag hide purchased from Wildlife Watching Supplies and it was superb..
Keep up the great work, love checking the blog for the latest installment
