Next week use your imagination ...

Weekly Challenge #336 (06/15/08 - 06/21/08) Summer Solstice - Submitted by Carol Hyman. June 20th, 23:59 GMT, The Longest Day of the Year--Anything that reminds us that this is the longest day of the year. Be sure to include the why behind your image in your description. Possible Ideas: te summer solstice, known variously throughout Europe as the Feast of Epona, Gathering Day, Johannistag, Litha, Vestalia and Midsummer, was viewed across cultures as a period of peak fertility and a time for weddings. The term "honeymoon" sprung from Celtic tradition and referred to the June moon after the fermented honey mead drunk at wedding celebrations. Shakespeare’s romantic comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” commemorates the magical pairings of the solstice, and Aragorn and Arwen hold their nuptials on that night in Tolkein’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

See you soon.

Longest day of the year? That could be next Saturday. My wife is threatening to make me go shopping for new wallpaper with her. Not only do I hate wallpaper, but there are hundreds of books full of samples she will look through. She has a hard time making up her mind even there is only ONE choice!
