Yes yet another water vole shot

Nikon D200 300mm 2.8 with 1.4 TC ISO 450 1/320 sec @ f4 no crop in fact the little bugger came a bit too close hence the cut off tail. PP in NX

Really nice shot, I'm left wondering if you might have benefitted from a little more DOF as it drops off just beyond the shoulder and hind quarters. Also, whilst the stick adds to sense of environment I might have taken out that little bit of grass between the WVs foot and the stick and the little object in the middle, extreme right of the frame (very small nits). All that said, I'd still be happy with a frame filling Wv shot just as this..

Thanks for sharing,

Very nice close-up Ian :toast:

Agree a touch more dof would have been nice, although possibly focusing slightly further into the vole would have done the trick {judging from the foreground sharpness}.

Nice one :toast:

Good frame filling shot. The light looks a little strange to me. Maybe a bit yellow/green. If the light is filtering through leaves above then you may need to tweak the white balance to compensate. Do love these little characters! :toast: :toast:
