Faster than a speeding bullet!!
Canon EOS 1ds MKII, 600mm f4 IS, 1.4x conv, G1321, G1548, f8, 1/80, ISO 500, RAW, RSE, CS2, boat.

Hi All,

Again I was trying to do something different with the Peregrine's and was hoping to get something that showed their speed, I got lucky with the wing position! I wanted to show motion blur but still maintain enough detail to show what it is, I think it works?? Still wading through something like 500 images!!

All comments welcome

Regards

Very interesting I like it.

I agree with you Rob...........i also think it works!!

Very appropriate bird for this 'motion' effect, and just enough visible bg detail to aid the sense of speed {rather than a completely featureless BG}.

Nicely done :toast:

Interesting, I like the fact that you can still ID a peregrine from this pic, I would like a blurred pigeon in front  .

Yes its quite remarkable that a lot of the features of Peregrine are still visable.
Its different. :toast:

It works for me. Not the most easy shot.
Very well done.

A great shot! Doesn't do anything for me personally but that's what art is all about!

Always going to get mixed views on this type of stuff, but good on you for trying (I like it), and having the vision to try this when a Peregrine flies past rather than going for the norm.

I think this is one bird where this type of shot works well. I like this. It's blurred enough to give that impression of real speed but has just enough detail to tell what bird it is. Nice work Rob

Hi Rob,

Works for me! Interesting take on producing that speed feel! Nicely done!

I must admit not to my taste but i can see what you have done (and well btw). I agree about the arty factor but it's great for summing up the bird.

I was always told 'if you couldn't get a sharp shot it's better to sit back and just enjoy watching' but as photographers that's not what we do. I have always tried to put that comment out of my mind and seeing this image as really helped especially when it was meant !

Great stuff !
