Ojito Wilderness
The Ojito Wilderness Area lies NW of Albuquerque. This is an anticline wall, that runs through part of the area. Overlooking the wall is Cabezon, an extinct volcanic plug.

D300 with 17-55mm at 55mm. f/10, 1/250, iso200.

I think this area appears to offer a great deal of potential, but the light is extremely harsh in this photo. I think shooting closer to sunrise or sunset would bring out the texture better. Looking at your site, this photo very inconsistent with the quality of the majority of your work.

Interesting landscape for sure! Had not heard of this wilderness before, how far is it from Bisti?

Thanks for your comments. I've struggled with processing this image, and this was the best I could attain. It was taken about 45 minutes after sunrise, so the light wasn't quite as harsh as this represents. Next time I'll take a ND filter. And hope for some clouds! I will say it looks much better on my computer than it translates on the web.

Ojito is loaded with good stuff. It's off Hwy 550 west if I-25 (about 20 miles) before the Jemez Springs turnoff.
