Kayaker 2
Captured some more kayak images last night at the white water park in Golden last night. Makes me want to start shooting sports again!

Here is one more. What I was trying to do was show how powerful the river can be.

That first image is awesome, love the expression on his face you captured!. You really do get the feeling of how powerful the water is in both images!.

Goal achieved! Great work Dan. They're both very successful in their own way.

That first one rocks! Based on your wildlife work, it doesnt surprise me one bit that you're a pro at action shots like this.

These are really great. What is the thing they wear on their nose?

nose clips, keeps a nose full of water out when you roll, fun shots wish I were there.

Nice stuff, Dan. I really like that first one. I've been having fun shooting these guys on the Animas River in Durango as well. It gets addicting!

First one ought to be titled, "Oh....SH%T!". Nice captures.

Love both shots. Have you tried cropping out the boat in the 2nd shot for a tight "head out of water" shot, just leaving the head, paddle, and whitewater?
For more whitewater shots, TEVA Mountain Games in Vail is this June 5-8, FIBark Whitewater Festival in Salida is June 12-15. The TEVA venue is great
( eg. www.freshairphotos.com/PT_facial.html ) and has world class playboaters and the river level should be wonderful, FIBark also has the same world class playboaters, however this year, the river level is so high the playhole in Salida
(eg. www.freshairphotos.com/PT_swloop.html )s currently washed out and all indications are that will be the case the week of the festival as well, however the extreme whitewater race in Pine Creek rapid on Thursday the 12th should be epic, it is possible though that the high water may force them to move it to possibly the Numbers section a couple of miles downstream. Lyons just had their festival this past weekend.

Thanks for the comments and to Don for the cropping suggestion and kayaking information.
