Wonderful capture John, I for one am very envious of such a nice shot of an otherwise very illusive bird. Nicely done.

Thanks all.
Glad you like the shots.
I,ve often thought it would be great in a desert area with a dustbin lid full of water just to see what happened.
Cheers

Great stuff !!!

Great shot John; really enjoyed the pool series. No secluded pool shots round here as most of Berkshire is under water tonight.

Thanks
Yes been a bit wet as they say. Went on a bus trip with the local oap group to the Cotswolds today and got p****d on all 6 hours. A wet OAP is not a happy bunny, Even the Penguins at Birdland looked fed up, but one fancied my missus, so it was a good laugh !

How long as this pool/hide been in existance.. lots of productive work is coming from it.

Hi Tom
Roughly thirty years, and its been re designed about three times in that period. The other pool is near a quarry and I have a couple of temporary ones. The last and most permanent one went up about 5 years back. Its wooden and sunk in the ground slightly. There's stacks of stuff to go through yet.The pool in front is fed by a small spring which only dries up in exceptional years which this one is not ! Don't forget I live in the middle of an NNR so if its not productive there's something wrong.!!
