Badger close up........
Bonjour
Last evening I went again to see how my badger were doing. I arrive at 18h10 and by 18h 20; they were out in front of the tree.
This time I really wanted to see how accepted I was. I went really close to the tree, about 2 meter and to my surprise “one eared” appear just in front of me. As I was taking picture, I was talking to her and making little noise to get her attention. She NEVER was afraid at all. It was INCREDIBLE !!! It is for me an incredible achievement and I regard myself incredibly lucky to be able to be accepted by a WILD animal. The experience is MAGIC! At one moment, I thought that I would have been able to pet the baby badger with the peanut butter`s help!
Two pictures (Hope I do not get slaughter by the mods!)
First one taken with mark 3 and 70-200 f7.1 and the 1.4,it is a tight head shot. Second one 17-35 f8 mard2 n 500iso and remote control on a tripod, I wanted to show how closed I was . Both pictures are full frame.
Bonne journee a tous and If your quest are badgers good luck, it is incredible!!!
PS: I like the word “incredible” it is a good English word.

Frederic,

Fantastic! It is amazing how tame wild animals can become if they are offered a little food! As you say, it's a real privilege when you get to experience moments like this. I'm really enjoying this series, so keep them coming...

Cheers,

Dan.

What a great experience - I can imagine how you must have felt. I hope old one ear heals up OK - that looks a nasty injury to the left ear.

Super shots Frederic - it's a good job they are 'short sighted' as with a face like yours they certainly wouldn't come that close otherwise!

Amazing stuff Frederic. Looks like we are on the same path this summer. The full face as so much impact. She certainly looks battle worn. It is a true privilege to be accepted by these fantastic characters. Just want to add my congratulations. It is a just reward for you time and effort. :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast: :wavey:

Wow! Fantastic shot! It really is incredible to see how close you are!

I'd love to SEE a badger, let alone photograph one, or be accepted by them, as you clearly have been!

Amazing! Keep up the great work!!
