Hi Folks,

Well since I was out with Phil Hurst showing him around my Adder site I thought I'd better think about sorting one or two of my shots from the same day. I was working in closer to the animal than Phil as I had to control it so he could get his great shots too..

Anyway, she was a cool customer and waited around for a good while, when she showed signs of having enough she went straight back to where I found her.. She was in exactly the same place as I found her the week before and not far from previous years either.. Knowing how to work and respect these animals has enabled me to gain some great insight into their behavior and general ecology. I guess I've been monitoring these particular animals for about 8 years now.. Almost like old friends now..

Kind regards,

Brett.

that's a great image, I really like the simple composition and strong eye contact. Very nice. Must be a treat to watch Adders regularly.

Having met some of your "friends" Brett, I remain in awe of your nowledge of these animals and their ilk. Your "adder days" are an inspiration!
The colours on this one look as good as any I've seen from you. :toast: :toast:

Your understanding of these creatures is evident from the quality of your shots and this one is no exception. Great stuff.

A beautiful image Brett. I used to see loads of these when I was a lad but sadly I haven't seen one since moving down here. If I do, I shall hold this image in mind and hopefully get something lke as good a shot.
Cracking shot
Robert.

Very nice, Brett, I like the composition - the way the adder appears to have been 'poured' into the frame.
